Residential

GGP Consult’s residential workload continues to expand with over 20 McCarthy and Stone Retirement Living Projects completed each with up to 60 quality apartments.

We provided structural engineering to a four storey vertical stepped extension to 11 Palace Street in London creating over 20 additional luxury apartments, whilst other recent projects include the conversion of two terrace properties in Fulham (London) into six luxury apartments with basements.

Housing projects encompass Pine Park in Barton upon Humber, whilst one of our bespoke designs, Barrow House (Wolds Barn) was a finalist in the Grand Designs House of the Year.

Residential

Our Civil and Structural Engineering skills are often tested by the variance of construction methods required on residential buildings, with superstructures of steel, concrete, masonry and timber being common.

Piled, rafted or traditional pad and strip foundations are frequent, to overcome challenging ground conditions and site topography. Further challenges are also posed by staggered footprints, cantilever balconies and open atriums.

The Civil Engineering Team design roads and drainage systems for large sites covering considerable areas, all of which incorporate the latest techniques in surface water attenuation and controlled discharge.

All roads and drainage systems are designed to adoptable standards.
