01

The Challenge

Hull City Council required the delivery of a new housing development to address local housing needs. The project involves constructing 99 energy-efficient homes, ranging from one to four bedrooms, alongside public open spaces, sustainable drainage systems, and infrastructure for safe and welcoming communities. The development needed careful coordination of multiple stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors while staying on schedule, within budget, and meeting high standards for quality and sustainability. Adverse weather conditions, including sub-zero temperatures, presented additional challenges that could disrupt progress.

The Solution

GGP Consult was appointed as the Project Manager, taking responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the project’s delivery. By managing the interface between the client, contractors, and stakeholders, we ensured clear communication, effective planning, and proactive risk management. Our oversight has driven key milestones, including the successful completion of piling works and the start of superstructure activities, such as roof truss installations. Additionally, we ensured the timely delivery of sustainable drainage solutions, including SuDS and attenuation tanks, to address environmental and infrastructure challenges.

The Result

The project remains on schedule, with major progress achieved across foundational and superstructure works. The piling phase has been completed, roof trusses are being installed on the first six plots, and sustainable drainage systems have been successfully implemented. GGP’s proactive management ensured minimal disruption from adverse weather and facilitated the smooth progression of works. The development is on track to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient homes and public spaces that meet the diverse needs of the local community while providing a safe and sustainable living environment.
