Project Overview

GGP Consult provided structural detailed design and fabrication drawing services to Excelerate Energy for the GNL Escobar.

GNL Escobar (GNLE) is located on the Paraná River, about 30 miles outside Buenos Aires City.

The facility provides increased peak capacity for the high demand winter months. It also provides additional natural gas supply and transport capacity to the Buenos Aires region.

The scope of work included the design of the High Pressure (HP) Loading Arm support risers and the Operating/Maintenance platforms. This included the Hydraulic Piping installation.

GGP used specialised in-house design techniques including finite element analysis to address the complexity of the required stress analysis. This approach provided high quality bespoke design at minimum cost.

GNL is an example of GGP's proven record in supporting Excelerate Energy on fast track Gasport projects. The whole project took only 8 months to design, install and commission achieving a "gas on date" in record time.
